Dashboard overview

The dashboard will show you what's happening on your website in a single glance, back-end as well as front-end. It shows you what websites are about to go online, or those that have recently been changed. It also shows you other Sitebox users who are logged in.

In the following image, you'll see the different sections of the dashboard:

  1. Overview of the different websites that are being managed within Sitebox. When you select one of the websites, sections 2 and 4 will show specific information on the selected website.
  2. Web statistics gathered by Google Analytics.
  3. Recently changed: It shows you the item that has been changed, by whom it was changed and when the change was made.
  4. The account you are logged in with, with a link to your profile.
  5. Other users who are online at the same time.
  6. The current version of Sitebox you are using as well as a link to the knowledge base.

My profile

The page shows a link to your profile. When you click it, your profile opens with two tabs: 'Profile' and 'Groups':

On the 'Profile' tab, you can change your e-mail address, your name, the used language, and your password. You can also manage your keys for two-factor authentication. On the 'Groups' tab, you can see what user groups you are a part of.

Web statistics with Google Analytics

The dashboard can show you web statistics. These statistics provide an insight into the number of times you have actually visited your website. Furthermore, you can also read in what way people go to your website or where they come from. This allows you to verify if your website functions and performs sufficiently so that you can make adjustments in a goal-oriented manner.

These statistics are gathered by Google Analytics. This is a tool by Google that allows you to gather information about visitors on your website.

Google Analytics is free to use.

The use of Google Analytics isn't mandatory. When you're not using the web statistics, your dashboard will show you the following notice:

Google Analytics and the GDPR

When you use Google Analytics, your website places cookies in your visitor's browser in order to gather data. This data is gathered to better your website and/or services. Since the arrival of the GDPR you need to ask your visitors specific consent to place these cookies and process their data.

For the use of Google Analytics in compliance with GDPR you need a 'Data processing agreement' with Google.

You can find a variety of manuals that help you set up Google Analytics for GDPR-compliant use.
